KENYA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Creating practical, lasting solutions in Kenya
Ronella Group is working with communities in Kenya to help address practical challenges facing local farmers, families and schools. Working with local partners, the aim is to strengthen existing community assets, improve livelihoods and create sustainable opportunities that can continue delivering value over the long term.
LOCAL OPPORTUNITIES & PRIORITIES
Listening to the people already building their future.
FROM LOCAL EFFORT TO LASTING IMPACT
Turning local investment into lasting opportunity.

THREE AREAS FOR PRACTICAL SUPPORT
Practical solutions built around local needs.
Ronella has identified three areas where practical support could make a meaningful difference: completing the cooperative’s
milk pasteurising plant, improving the journey from farm to market, and supporting local primary schools.
THREE PRIORITIES FOR LASTING IMPACT
01 - Milk Processing & Farmer Value
02 - The First Mile for Farmers
03 - Supporting Local Primary Schools

BUILDING STRONGER COMMUNITIES
Supporting the next generation.
During our visit to Kenya, Ronella met with local farmers, visited individual farms and saw first-hand the challenges facing
families and their communities. What stood out was not a lack of ambition, but the determination of people already investing
their own limited resources to create a better future.
The farmers’ cooperative has already invested in a partly constructed milk pasteurising plant.
Ronella aims to help assess what is needed to complete the facility and identify appropriate funding, enabling farmers to retain more
of the value created from their milk.
Poor roads, limited storage and difficult access to markets can force farmers to sell produce quickly and at lower prices. Ronella is
exploring practical solutions including cold storage, suitable transport and improved handling to reduce losses and help farmers
retain more of the value they create.

Building practical solutions around real needs
MILK PROCESSING
LOCAL SCHOOLS
Building on the commitment already there.
Local families make significant sacrifices to keep their children in school, yet many schools still lack adequate toilets, kitchens and
other basic facilities. Ronella aims to support practical improvements that create a safer, more supportive environment for children
and the wider community.
Ronella’s approach is to work alongside local partners and communities to turn identified priorities into practical, deliverable
projects. Each initiative will be assessed carefully, with appropriate technical expertise, funding and local participation
brought together to create solutions capable of delivering lasting benefit.
Stronger farmers. Stronger local economy.
The farmers and families Ronella met are not waiting for somebody else to solve their problems. They are already investing their own limited
resources in their cooperative, their farms and their children’s future. Ronella’s role is to build on that commitment by helping turn local effort
into practical, sustainable progress.
Families are already making significant sacrifices to keep their children in school, often despite extremely limited resources.
By supporting improvements to basic school facilities, Ronella aims to help create a safer and more supportive environment for
children and give the next generation a stronger foundation for the future.

The local farmers’ cooperative has already invested its own limited resources in projects designed to improve the community’s
future. Ronella’s role is to build on that commitment, helping identify what is needed, where practical support can make the
greatest difference, and how appropriate investment can help turn local initiative into sustainable progress.
Helping farmers retain more of the value from their milk and crops can strengthen the wider local economy.
Better processing, storage and access to markets can reduce losses, improve returns and create greater opportunity for
families and local businesses.
